“…ghosties and beasties and things that go bump in the night. Good Lord, deliver us.”
In this gripping episode of “Seekers of the Supernatural”, Tony Spera interviews Ed and Lorraine Warren regarding the now-famous, diabolical story known as the “Amityville Horror”. Join Tony, Ed, and Lorraine as they share in this, the first of a two-piece installment, the true, first-hand tale from their investigation of the house, including the images captured and their personal interviews with the Lutz family and others involved with this most horrific case. Ed and Lorraine Warren, two of the world’s most noted demonologists, relate the real events and debunk the myths behind this story that would later told in book and film.
Before it was known of by anyone outside of the Amityville area, the Warrens were asked by Martin Scott, a news anchor covering the story, to investigate the house. They were then invited by the Lutz family themselves, who had mysteriously fled this home after living there only twenty-eight days; leaving every single possession behind excluding the clothes on their bodies, and vowing never to return. Ed and Lorraine share the horrific details of how, after years of doing such work, they had never been so terrified by a case; “…one of the most horrific,” Ed recalls. Ed and Lorraine further relate how the demons they encountered on their first visit even followed them home.
In reviewing some of the history of the Amityville house, Ed and Lorraine share their supernatural expertise to provide unique insight into how such events could transpire. Learn why they believe a demon called a shadow ghost led Ronald Defeo, Jr. to murder all six members of his family, including his father, who reportedly knew something was not right and told neighbors he had a devil on his back. Also hear how a secular man like George Lutz, an ex-Marine, karate expert, and “rough” type who ran with motorcycle gangs, first bought the DeFeo estate, including some of the furniture they were murdered in, and later challenged the demons himself to a confrontation, only to flee with his family in terror, leaving behind everything they owned.
Ed and Lorraine not only provide the viewer a rare glimpse into the “Amityville Horror”, but also share fascinating insight into their time- and event-tested techniques and knowledge they use to investigate and intervene in such phenomena.
